CPSC
and
Delta
are
re-announcing
our
2008
recall
for
drop
side
cribs
using
safety
pegs
because
we
recently
became
aware
of
a
death
in
2009
in
a
second
hand
crib.
This
crib
was
bought
at
a
thrift
store
and
had
been
assembled
and
disassembled
numerous
times.
The
safety
pegs
that
were
supplied
with
the
crib
had
been
lost
over
time.
We
urge
parents
to
go
to
our
website
http://www.cribrecallcenter.com
or
call
us
at
800.816.5304
to
register
to
receive
our
free
kit.
While
we
feel
the
response
rate
to
our
original
recall
announcement
was
good,
we
still
want
to
continue
advising
consumers
not
to
use
a
crib
without
our
free
kit.
Many
of
the
cribs
are
over
10
years
old
and
as
the
CPSC
has
stated
"cribs
older
than
10
years
should
not
be
used
and
should
be
discarded
in
a
way
that
they
cannot
be
reused".
We
urge
parents
to
never
use
a
crib
that
is
second
hand.
There
is
no
way
to
know
how
the
crib
was
used,
stored
or
if
it
was
handled
in
the
proper
manner.
Many
second
hand
cribs
have
been
modified
or
improperly
repaired
by
previous
owners.
Many
have
had
their
original
hardware
replaced
with
unauthorized
hardware.
All
of
these
makes
the
crib
unsafe
for
use.
For
parents
who
will
be
using
their
own
crib
for
a
second
or
third
child
it
is
extremely
important
to
follow
the
following:
- Check
www.CPSC.gov
to
find
out
if
their
crib
or
other
juvenile
items
have
been
recalled.
- Check
all
hardware
to
make
sure
nothing
is
missing
or
broken.
Please
check
the
hardware
against
the
instructions
to
make
sure
you
have
everything
listed.
-
Check
all
wood
parts
to
make
sure
there
are
no
cracks
or
loose
joints.
-
Read
all
instructions
and
warnings
carefully.
Many
manufacturers
have
on
their
websites
new
tips
on
assembly
or
videos
of
how
to
assemble
your
crib.
-
If
you
need
replacement
hardware
or
instructions,
contact
the
manufacturer.
-
Immediately
Stop
using
the
crib
if
you
notice
anything
broken
or
not
working
correctly.
-
NEVER,
EVER,
use
screws,
fasters
or
parts
that
did
not
come
with
your
crib
and
are
not
recommended
by
the
manufacturer.
Never
use
Duct
Tape
or
cable
ties
or
glue
or
anything
else
to
repair
your
crib.
It
may
look
safe
to
you
but
it
is
unsafe
for
your
child.
